Some would say 13 is an unlucky number. Most hotels will not even have a 13th floor. Why do we condition ourselves to believe things that are not even true?
Luck, 13, walking under a ladder, stepping on a crack are all things we have conditioned ourselves to believe, that is how we base our faith a lot of times, faith based on luck. So if our faith is based on luck, what is our expectation of God?
Praying to the lotto of the Lord, hoping God picks your prayer number, and putting your faith in luck. Does that describe your prayer life?
Culture tells us things should be a certain way, or we should live a certain way. If you don't, it can be hard to be accepted, or you may get rejected.
Numbers, superstitions, black cats, breaking a mirror are really things culture prefers. However, our God is not created or made up of superstition, luck,odds, or coincidence. Our God is thorough, precise, exact, and cares about every little detail.
